Breathwork for the Eternal Seeker

For this freebie “intro to breathwork” audio, I was called to speak to those of us who are always looking for the next thing. Those who feel like they are lacking control of the things happening in life and shifting out of the victim mindset.

This audio does go into the high intensity “breath of fire”, so if you have any of the following contraindications, just stick to the calming box breath instead.

Health conditions that are generally safe to practice Breathwork with, but caution is advised:

  • Pregnancy – this is very similar to the breathing you do in labor, so this style of breathwork is not recommended for pregnancies beyond 20 weeks.

  • Asthma – mild or medium (keep your inhalator nearby, just in case)

  • High blood pressure

  • History of surgery or physical injury

  • Thyroid condition

  • Diabetes

  • History of seizure

  • PTSD

  • Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or psychiatric condition

  • Actively using recreational drugs or medication that alters brain chemistry – painkillers, anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, stimulants, hallucinogens, etc.

  • Recent surgery or recent physical injury – depends on the surgery and how recently you’ve had it. Always best to check with your doctor if you’re unsure.

Contraindications that are NOT safe to practice Breathwork with:

  • Cardiovascular disease (angina, previous heart attacks, or strokes)

  • Detached retina

  • Glaucoma

  • Aneurysm in brain or abdomen

  • Kidney disease

  • Severe Asthma

  • Epilepsy

  • Any other medical, physical or psychiatric condition which would impair or affect the ability to involve in deep physical and emotional release.

When in doubt, always check with your doctor first. This style of breathwork can cause rapid changes in your blood pressure, so caution is extremely important for your safety.
